User of the Month
This user is picked for many reasons determined by staff. This member goes above and beyond for the community, not just being here to be here. Sometimes, we might not even have a MOTM and that's okay. We hold a history list of past users who were users of the month. Recognition sure feels good!
- This list is empty! Be the first!
The Background
When the world was new, a pack of wolves went hunting in a forest where they found a purple flower. When approached, the flower bloomed and everyone around it changed. When the group returned to their home, other wanted the new gifts their kin had received, other downcast them and fled deeper into the forest, avoiding the use of magic and elements and tools. The flower had granted all speech, but the outcasts remained in hiding as a ruler rose to govern the new land the flower had flourished for them. The leader of the newly found citizens of Exos took the flower to a tower where he would keep watch over it, the Citizens vowing to stand as a defense from they feuding kin in the Forest of Destiny, refusing to accept a fate they didn't want.
The Plot
We have no plot. This is an open-story Roleplay. Enjoy!
Registration and Account Management
We have a site application that needs to be filled out in order for you to officially join, but first, we need an account to do that. The first account you join with will be your OOC account. You'll learn more about OOC Accounts later, but this account is a requirement and cannot-will not-be bypassed for any reason whatsoever. Once you've registered with this account, you may post your joining form in the "Joining the Community" thread and wait for STAFF to accept it. An example has been done if you need help. Once the application is accepted, you may register your character account. A joining form is not required for all Characters, just the first one; users can have as many characters as they desire with proper activity.
New to proboards? No problem! You'll create your character account by clicking the far left hand side of the menu selection you see at the bottom right of the forum. This icon will take you to a dashboard where you will click on the "Create new account on this forum" link and it will ask you to type in username and password. You email will stay the same. You will use the same icon to switch from your accounts without having to logout and login. Easy, right?
OOC Accounts vs. IC Accounts
OOC accounts-Out of Character-do not post in roleplay. These accounts are basically the person outside the roleplay. These accounts can be any kind of username you want. OOC accounts do not earn Jewels. Even though you may post in places like the "Magic Box" or participate in a contest, the jewels you earn there go towards a character account of your choice. OOC accounts may only post in the "OOC Section" of the forums and the "Guesting Grounds" sections. We all have our days when we post with the wrong account, but please be sure to fix it. Organization is the key. You can change your OOC username anytime through your profile in the "Personal" tab via "Display Name". Make sure to alert STAFF of this change so we know who is who.
IC accounts-In Character-participate in Roleplay and cannot post in the IC or "Guesting Grounds section". These accounts should have the display name as your character name only. They earn Jewels through roleplay and interactions such as Questing, Hunting and Dueling. You'll learn more about Jewels and Roleplay Interactions later.
IC and OOC Records
Each Account, character or not, needs a record. These records contain a timeline of what has happened to that account. These are a requirement on this site, no exceptions. Records can contain a number of things. Below is a list of what each type of account could have within their records. There is no limitation to the records, you simply need one. There are a few required records that STAFF will need to see and those records will be marked with a "*"(star) in the lists below. STAFF will notify everyone if there are any changes to the lists in which you will be required to include in your records going forward. New items added to the lists don't need to be added if their are prior to the date the items were added to the lists. Records should only be posted with your OOC account. IC Records can be merged under one topic. Ex. Noella would have all of her Character Records under a topic titled "Noellas Character Records". Totles of the IC Records and OOC Records may be unique.
OOC Requirements
Character Creation
Each character on TROE will require a biography. This is a topic pertaining to information about your character such as Name, age, gender, a reference/description, personality and history. You can add what you like to your biography as long as the above mention are included as STAFF will look for those. The more unique you are with style, the better your character will be. It is often that users will use the same sort of images other use on other roleplay sites, but here we encourage you to use your own style. Even so, we understand if you don't have a design or art isn't a strong point. You can adopt a character from "Puppy Palace" where STAFF has an "Adopt a Puppy" topic where new users such as yourself can adopt a character from the selection. You can only adopt one, so choose wisely. Or adopt from fellow members who may sell for free or for a reasonable amount of Jewels.
Biography topics can hold more than one biography in them (i.e. Noellas Character Horde). Topics can be titled anything. Each character post is a reply to the topic. We have a few things about character creation we would like to clear up with our members so that things are unique and enjoyable, but also make sense. Examples have been provided to help guide you!

Buying an item
Buying an item is pretty simple. Go to the shop buy clicking the shop icon on the navigation bar. This will bring you to the Starter Category by default. Once you have registered your character, you'll need a few items from there. Most are free but some you will need to buy such as the Small Jewel bags when you have enough Jewels. You can view how many Jewels you have by viewing your profile or the memberlist.
To purchase an item, you will need to add it to your cart first. At the top right, you will see a Basket button, you'll click this when you are done shopping. On the far right column, you'll see a number box and an "Add to Cart" button. Select the number box and pick how many you want of an item. The number list may be numbered to 50 or more, but most items only have a quality of 1(one) per user. Select the "Add to Cart" button when you are done deciding how many you want and the item will "fly" to the basket. Once you're finished, select the "Basket" and review the item in the list. Count all the items to ensure you selected the right amount. You can remove an item if you have too many by selecting the "Remove" button next to the item. Click "Checkout when you are done. A window will pop up clarifying that you are making the right purchases. Click Submit and you can view the items in your inventory. See the STAFF account as an example.
Using/Selling an item
There are items in the store that your character will "use" and need to buy more. To use an item, it will be the same way you sell an item so when you sell an item, you won't get money or anything back for the sole reason of wanting to use the item. Once you have positioned that your character has eaten a piece of Elk meat or dyed their fur blue, you will go to your profile and select the item in the list to use it. You will then hit the "Accept Use" button and the adjust will be done for you; click "close" The item will either disappear from your inventory (If you have one of that item), or you'll the number next to the item decrease based on the number you chose to use. Follow the same procedures when you want to sell an item.
Trading Items
Keep in mind that some items might not be tradable, but if they are, here is how to do it. Go to the users profile and select the "Gift/Trade" button on their profile. Select the items you want to trade and they will appear in the box for that user. Once done, hit the done button. These transactions are timed, so be quick!
Transferring Money
Whether you are paying someone for the art they made you or the trade requested money in addition to an item, you have a process, but it's an easy one. To transfer money, simply go to the user profile you are sending the money to and select the "Transfer money to another Account" button. A box will show that contains a money field and a message box. The money field is where you enter the amount promised, the message box can be disregarded. Once done,, submit the transaction. Once submitted, ignore the "Member will need to accept the Request" as they are automatically accepted for you. This is also how you will transfer money from your OOC account to any character account you choose.

The Rules
Here you will find all of our rules pertaining to Roleplay, Site-Wide and a few chat rules too. These should be followed at all times. There will be consequences if one is broken. You may see our warning system for further information.
1. Site is Rated PG-13. Knowing this, if you want something particular to happen, please utilize the plot RP section and mark you thread appropriately as the public domains are for everyone.
2. What's said in RP, stays there! Meaning that if a character bullied you in RP, don't take it personally. Don't overdue it unless it has been discussed between parties. Thank you.
3. No post limit. Posts can be as long and detailed as you want them to be. The longer, the better.
4. No power-playing. Please don't speak up the actions of another person's character. It is very rude. Let others interact freely. We have set limitations to powers, element usage, etc to prevent going overboard.
5. Keep language minimal. Not that you can't use it, just don't use it in every sentence and especially don't use it at people. Thank you.
6. Keep to copyrights and credits. Please don't use any works that could be copyrighted and not able to be used elsewhere. If you use a work made by someone else, please follow their terms of use. If you find some off Google that obviously is available For public use, you are totally fine.
7. Be Respectful. We don't need to babysit anyone. Be polite and have fun. We all share one thing in common: roleplaying. So use that to enjoy conversation.
8. No personal information, please. If you give out your name, that's one thing, but don't share credit card info, addresses or any of that sort around the community. We don't need to know. Thank you!
9. Follow RP ratings! Character plot are permitted for users that want to Roleplay one on one with another user(s) if they want a certain plot to happen to their character. Since these are public to the community, we will use a rating system and this should advise users young and older so that they don't stumble upon a thread they don't want/need to be reading. See the Thread Rating topic for more information. Staff are not responsible if a user does not see the rating and reads a post about drugs they did not want to read. Staff, at the least, will ensure the post has the correct ratings.
10. Keep up with Character Records. Each character is REQUIRED to have a record topic. The record will assist with helping you and others review what has happened in the past for good memories and epic plots. You can decorate them as you wish, but every character needs to have one and YOU are responsible for keeping it updated.
11. Liquid time is allowed. Thus means that you may have your character in more than one place at the same time. The only condition is that you stick to an organized set of events with your character, a timeline.
Our Groups
These are the different groups a member may be a part of. They are recognized as part of a certain group by the color of their username. This keeps order in our community. We do not accept requests for groups. It typically ruins the surprise for someone about to be moved to a senior group hehe. So please don't ask.
Staff Team - our admins and mods. You may consult the members of this group if you need help with anything. Preferably, start in the Helping Hands forum and they will be quick to answer your questions. They have a Green username.
Helpers - Volunteers who help with the small stuff such as informing staff that something needs updating or loves to assist members. A little group for a big job. Admin and mod powers are not given. These users have a Purple username.
Senior Members - These members have remained active and loyal with us for 6 months or more. You need both activity and time to be moved here. The time an account sits in the inactive group doesn't count.
OOC - This is specific to OOC(Out of Character) accounts only. See the OOC vs. IC section below for more information.
Citizen - This character is a member of one of the villages where they eat, sleep and breath. They have chosen to settle and make a life in a village. They can still travel, but their home is in a village.
Merchant - You do not have a home, yet you make one where you stand. You like to trade and buy things from others, and you know a lot about the things happening in Exos. You are a walking newsstand.
Origin - You prefer to live wild and look wild. You avoid village contact and remain in the wilds of Exos. Your tongue is native to that of your ancestors and you refuse education. Most would consider you an outcast.
Nursling - A pup. You are confined to stay with your parents until age 1. Then you may start exploring and choosing merchant, citizen or Origin.
Inactive/Dead - Account has not posted or logged in for a month straight or more. This pertains mostly to main accounts. If a character has died their account is moved here.

Height and Weight
This should really make some sense. Weights should be in balance with heights so it all makes sense. Size and strength should also be in conjunction to each other. If your wolf is a "dwarf", they may be somewhat "fluffy". If you are skinny, you must be really tall or in between. Bottom line, it has to make sense.
Colors, Markings and Scars
This is where creativity can get super wild. The more unique your character is, the more you'll enjoy playing them because the character is yours. Character colors can range from rainbow colors to the most realistic colors. Characters can have hues and a colored wolf instead of the natural characteristics. We want you to have your freedom, so have at it! Eye colors can be realistic or unrealistic. Examples of some designs are provided below! Scars should be recorded if they happen in the roleplay. Characters can be created with scars from they recent history, but if you plan to add more, this should be noted in the character records so we all know what has changed to your character since you joined.
Mutations, Growths, and Disabilities
Characters can have any sort of mutation as the general background of TROE implies that the flower has made some changes, but you are the one who determines those changes. Growths are accepted to where you could have a six-legged wolf if you wanted to. Disabilities should be balanced to where if your wolf is blind in one eye, they should have the strengths and weaknesses of only having one eye.
Bisexual, Heterosexual, and Homosexual
These are all excepted. Please abide to the fact that if a players character is Heterosexual, don't chase after them unless this is agreed by both parties for some intense character drama in the roleplay. If you don't know what either of the sexual stances, their definition is below!
Heterosexual: Character is only attracted to the opposite sex.
Homosexual: Character is attracted to both opposite and same sex.
Bisexual: Character is attracted to either male or female no matter the characters own gender.
Origin of the Character
Characters can be born in Exos and written in the histories as such. Characters MUST have some sort of origin to Exos as the background states that the world was made for all and outsiders are not mentioned. Characters can be a lost pup who wasn't wanted by an Origin, or simply be born of the ancestors who first discovered the flower. You are creative, I'm sure you'll come up with something.
Aging
Characters are subjected to age when we reach the end of a year within the roleplay. If you do not wish to age your character, purchase an Aging stone for them which is a one time pass for that aging period. Characters can start at any age in the roleplay. We simply ask that you keep to the aging rules. Time-skips are bought in the store if you want to age your character before the end of the year in roleplay. Aging currency is kept at the human year currency (1 year, 2 years, etc) as this is a readable currency for most players.
Death/Leave
If you wish to kill off your character, you may do so however you wish. This must be roleplayed that your character has died and the event of their death recorded in the record of that character. Once you have killed them off, you can create a new character if you like. If you wish to bring a character back from the dead, you will need a Revival Stone from the shop to do so. If your character chooses to leave, you can bring them back anytime, no requirements, except their leave and return must be recorded in their records.

Choosing a Faction
There are three factions in TROE which have a purpose of their own in the world of Exos. These factions are to be included in profiles, character biographies and character records. If you find that you want to change your faction for whatever reason, you will have a max of 14 days to decide before it is permanent are you will need to purchase a Faction change from the pack store, no exceptions!
Citizens
These are the wolves who live within Zodiac village, they go by the name of Armythians. You are able to find a job and work to earn wages that will also help you to buy item in the store. Citizens have accepted their unique differences, unlike their Origin brothers. Citizens are lead by the wise Ruler, Seagris who spends his time in a tower where the magical flower is being kept. This is a Faction you would choose if you are looking to harness magic or elements. Make sure you purchase a Registration form from the store or you will never get through the gates!

Harvesters will hunt prey and bring to the Sleeping tunnels to be stored under guard in a cave separate from all others to keep supplies handy during the winter months when food is scarce.
Book Keeper-Earns 10 Jewel-
Book Keepers manage the knowledge of Exos. If you need to learn something, a book keeper would have the tools and the answers to guide you including maps, histories, records and more. Book Keeps are summoned whenever an event happens including a death, marriage, etc to keep records so that citizens can keep track of everything.
Rebel-Earns 10 Jewel-
A Rebel secretly hiding as citizen of Zodiac Village. These wolves are like spies, constantly lurking to learn information and report back to the secret headquarter in Destiny Forest. Rebels may be caught and questioned, some smart enough to simply be waived with a warning but confined to the city until further notice.
Merchants
Looking to sell some cool stuff? Well you have a great thing coming for you. Merchants love to sell things for a good price. The items they sell are simply within the roleplay. It's up to you to keep track of what you buy and sell to a merchant. These guys don't follow the uniqueness of a citizen or rebel like an Origin. They can be either as they are not biased. Merchants also do a lot of traveling and often spend most of their time at Zodiac Inn, Travelers rest or Aged Tavern, spreading gossip about what has been happening in the lands of Exos. Never know what you might hear!
Origins
They refuse to accept that a flower can give someone power. They refrain from going anywhere near if, but they have a soul purpose to wipe out Zodiac Village and destroy the flower at all costs. These rebels could be lurking anywhere, even under the guise of a fellow citizen. Origins are basically your realistic ancestors of Exos who keep to Destiny Forest on the outskirts of the land. You also know that Travelers Rest is a doorway to the secret meeting place of any rebel disguised as a resting place for travelers, but no one knows but you! Origins do use magic and elements and they use weapons and armor, but that doesn't mean they always have to like it.
The Currency of Exos
Our currency is Jewels. A commonly used currency, but not as common as Coins or Bones. Jewels are used to buy things in the shop, purchase art from follow players, and participating in the Magic Box Game to earn the mother-load of Jewels.
There are a number of ways you can earn jewels. IC accounts earn them whereas OOC accounts do earn jewels, but you don't keep them on the OOC account. OOC accounts earn jewels by participating in the Magic Box, Member of the Month, Contests and activities outside the roleplay. IC accounts earn jewels by participation in roleplay events, hunting, dueling and completing objectives. Both accounts earn jewels buy trades and selling items to the store.

The Store
The store is where you can find a variety of items you will need for your character whether it be, fashion, useful tools, living supplies, survival basics and other stuff too. Ounce you register your account, visit the store to buy a few items from the Starters category; make sure it is with your character account, not your OOC account. You can trade items, sell them and use them. Heres how!
Your Characters Skills
You choose one skill from the list below, 2 if hey choose a Special Skill as well. This skill is your characters greatest strength. You must adhere to the fact that when it comes to have a skill, that skill also has a weakness your character must abide to. Skills can be changed by purchasing a Pen Chip from the store. You will need to by one Pen Chip for every skill you want to change. This also goes for switching between magic and elements.
Skills Currently Include:
- Strength: You have incredible strength, able to lift and stay focused on what needs to be done. You suffer from not having the will to turn away from something.
- Wisdom: You choose the right path all the time, not wanting to do wrong. Your weakness is that you are not always right, and sometimes the wisest choice could be the wrong one.
- Endurance: You are not easily tired no matter the task. Your weakness is that you are always too quick to jump into the action, not very smart.
- Cunning: You are quick to come up with a diversion, tactic in battle, etc. You weakness is sometimes you are not very wise and some may lead to catastrophes.
- Willingness: You are not so easily broken, you will do what you must, no matter the pain and suffering, no matter the outcome. Your stubbornness could lead to an easy downfall.
- Trust: You never questioned about your loyalty to someone, for it is true. In a time of need, it is difficult to lie.
- Swordsmanship: You are good with any blade, no matter the type. Your weakness is your endurance can only hold for a short while before you are exhausted and vulnerable.
Special Skills
These are the Magic and Element skills. You can only have one or the other, as indicated above. Your character is not required to have magic or element usage as long as you have Seagris' Tears in your inventory at all times for that character. They are at no cost, this is just so that others recognize that your character is perhaps "immune" to the magic and elemental effects of the Flower. In this case, you would be a great asset to the rebel or the village, so you are valuable, but not immune to the affects of a blade or fatal bite to the neck.
- Magic: You are in control of any magical power you see fit. Your weakness is your inability to effect the elements no matter what spell is cast.
Element: You can bend any element you see fit. Your weakness is that you are subjected to any spell cast by a magic user.
Immunity: You are immune to the use of magic an elemental castings. You are most vulnerable to any sword and fang.
Earning Skill Points
You do not start off as a master of your chosen skill. You must earn skill points. The mastery is when you reach 900 points max. Points are earned by leveling your character (must be finished with all objectives for that level and rewards must include skill points), Questing(10pts), hunting(5pts) and dueling(5pts). Points are awarded regardless of the outcome. Skill points are also given when participating in contest and activities, not polls.
Leveling Your Character
Levels are gained by completing objectives. The following are objectives for levels 1 through 3. Leveling is restricted to Roleplay posts only. If you would like more objectives to be added and/or have ideas for some, feel free to share with everyone in the suggestion forum. All new characters must go through the objectives to level up. You make things interesting on how they get the objective achieved by using your own imagination. Keep a copy of the levels and their objectives in your characters Activity Log(Character Records) so that you can cross things off as you complete them.
Level 1: Learning the Ropes
Level 2: Explore Exos
Level 3: The Chosen One
Mountain Lion
The Mountain lion snoops near Howling Heights. It is extremely rare to find a Mountain Lion in the valley, but sometimes they are seen near the village looking for food during the winter time. Mountain lions range from all levels depending on their age. You won't be able to hunt a Mountain lion until Lv6.
Elk
Elk are all over the flat lands of Exos. They mostly keep to the open meadows near the borders of exos. Elk are the main source of food for the Citizen to feed everyone in the village.
Rabbit
These rodents can be found all throughout the land of Exos. They are quick footed and smart. I would keep my wits about me when hunting them. If you need a quick snack, they come in handy. They are the hardest prey to scavenge for during the winter season.
Wild Mice
You can find these little guys in burrows near the Rolling Hills. Sometimes even in the forests. Mice are scarce during the winter but if you are skilled at cunning i think you will have matched skill of the Fox.
Grizzly
These giants stay near the forests and the river trying to catch fish for their dinner. If you need food, I wouldn't try my chances with these guys, but hey, in a group you might just have a chance.
Unicorn
These beasts are powerful and mysterious, keeping to Destiny Forest where the rogues are. These animals can be great allies, but they are shy and almost impossible to talk to. Maybe try your luck?
Gryphon
The Gryphon also resides in Destiny forest. They are large magic and element users and hold great skills a wolf could learn from but they have a temper like no other. Gryphons will either befriend you or try to eat you, so be careful.
Giant Boar
Found in woodlands and forests, the Boar is a stubborn beast with a temper as well. Boars wield a magic in their strength. They are sometimes seen in the Meadows but i wouldn't corner yourself. Those tusks are sharp!
Dragon
The dragon stays up in Howling heights, guarding his plunder. Actually, no one knows for sure if he even has any treasure. All we know is he has a nasty habit of scaring the village half to death and stealing from food stocks in the underground tunnels.
The Beast of Exos
An Unknown creature to Exos. Perhaps you should meet him in Destiny forest. Just look for his log.

Magic and Elements can be used while completing these objectives. Ex: Using a levitation spell to keep a rebel from escaping the dungeons. We did not want to use separate objectives for elements and magic as those skills are free of imagination.

Beastiary
There are many different types of animals in Exos; mythical and real. Even a few native prey and predators still walk the lands of Exos. All animals are accustomed to many different levels. The younger they are, the easier the challenge will be for a high ranked member. I wouldn't go on a hunt with a 1v5. You'll find more information on hunting parties later in the Guidebook.Mountain Lion

Here, you will learn about the different plants, trees and herbs we have here in the Realm of Exos. Healers can refer to this when they need a mixture or potion ingredients.
Cob Web
Used for patching a wound to stop the bleeding. Found in Destiny Forest and Applewood.
Lavender
A sleeping scent to help you rest, great in tea!
Dandelion
Used to make a paste to prevent infections to large wounds. Found in Applewood, Rolling Hills and Destiny Forest.

Adoptions
All the little puppies are so cute! Yes, we do allow adoptions here. In fact, new members who may not have a character can adopt one instead! Adoptions are set for earning Jewels or FREE! If you are a new member, refer to the Pup Shop in the Puppy Palace forum for some designs that are available to you. Same for members if you want a design. New members should register their character first before requesting an adopt. If you fall inactive, the design will be taken back to the shop for others to use so none go to waste(By inactive, we mean a total of 6 months straight).
Dueling and Hunting
Dueling and Hunting a a few things users can do to enhance their Experience points for their characters. If you read below you will learn the procedures of hunting solo and hunting in a party and how to commence a duel. If you have any further questions associated with the interactions, please utilize the Helping Hands forum.
Setting up a Duel
Duels can be for love, show of strength, sparring matches, and any other reason you can think out of your imagination. To start a duel, both parties need to agree to the duel. You can utilize the Plot Discussion forum if you need to talk about how you want the duel to go about. Once the duel is planned out then you may set up your characters. How you do this part, is up to you. Dueling should be something close to your level.
During the Duel
During the Duel, each user will post in RP as the duel progresses. Users will make a move, but you must avoid role playing the outcome. The example below is how this basically would be done.
Player 1: Kamaji stormed and flung himself for the attackers throat, thinking he would have a fair blow.
Player 2: Arane dodged the attack whirling to strike at the males flank, teeth bared, ready to taste flesh.
Players will be able to discuss the outcome of things in plot discussion forum so that everything is kept fair. All duels will need at least two witnesses to start a duel or it is invalid. Sparring only needs one witness. Once the duel or sparring match is complete, wolves should see a healer and progress topic should be updated as well as health.
Successful hits = 1 skill point per non-fatal wounds, 2 skill points per every fatal wound
Hunting in Groups
There should be a leader of the Hunt. If a user wants to lead a hunt, they simply need to create a topic in the Hunting Forum and wait for at least two people to join in. Hunts may last as long as needed but remember that you will need to be prepared for the hunt and take what necessary items you need including weapons, armor, potions and snacks for the road as needed. Hunting parties will also create their own topic in discussion to plan out how they want the hunt to go. Progress topic will be updated throughout the tried of a successful kill.
Successful Hits = 2 points for a fatal blow, 1 point for a non-fatal blow
**Dices determine the Outcomes for a hit or miss in Duels and Hunts**
**Dices are rolled only in full reply, not quick reply**
